About

Artist Bio

In 2004, I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in ceramics and sculpture at California State University Fullerton.  Soon after, I moved to attend the University of Texas at Austin and received an MFA in ceramics in 2008.  I began teaching at various institutions and colleges such as Concordia University Texas, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and Temple College. In 2015, I earned a second MFA in Fibers from Savannah College of Art and Design.  The next year and a half I spent immersed within Austin’s thriving music and film industry.  My current endeavors include returning to education, creating art, and travel.

Artist Statement

My work examines a bicultural sensibility though its inventive aesthetic of ‘making do’ with what you have. I explore history, spirituality, display, and abundance though floral and mass cultural imagery that brings forth a sense of the memorial. The development of worlds, imagery, and pattern is an ongoing process of collecting, arranging, and refinement. The mixing of materials and processes engage a curiosity of how to make sense of accumulation, collage, and infinite possibilities.
